I heard an excellent teaching on being a carrier of Peace this last week and I just had to share with you!
Philippians 4:7 reads…. and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Think about that, the PEACE of GOD will go beyond anything we understand and will guard our hearts and minds… POWERFUL… I mean really think about that…
I know that there are many days that I feel like arrows are coming from every corner and the room is spinning — from my task list, expectations, and just life.
Yet I have to just stop and rest in God’s peace because in the very midst of that place I get clarity and literally my spirit calmed and I can do things beyond my own ability.
I reminded that I am a carrier of HIS peace… that I can bring that into any situation and rather than the situation affecting me, I can affect the situation just by being a person of peace…
So God tells us that we do not fight flesh on flesh, yet prince and principalities, and then we have a grander knowing that IF we are IN GOD and GOD is IN US… Then we are ALL that HE is, be so excited and encouraged that in Romans 16:20 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
Come on now.. did you get that GOD OF PEACE WILL SOON crush SATAN under your feet? That’s a promise of God you can count on.
So here is the challenge, are you being a carrier of peace or allowing the world to effect how you respond?
You have the Holy Spirit inside of you, that is your councilor —and Galatians 5:22 reads… 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness.
So what fruits of the spirit are coming out of you?
Here is a practical example: If you have an orange and you squeeze it, you would not expect apple juice to come from it because it’s an orange.
You expect orange juice…
So if you are a follower of Christ, and Christ is IN you then what comes out of you when life puts on the pressure… is it love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness?
Just like in Mark 4:35 when Jesus is sleeping on the boat with his disciples… They came to Him in fear and worry and Jesus did not jump up and partner in the fear, yet he released what was inside of HIM over the storm… PEACE, Jesus commanded peace over the storm and the storm obeyed! When you have the Peace of God on you, the darkness has to flee.
So today I encourage you, to rest in your father above who known’s all things. I challenge you to respond in the fruits of the spirit this week as the potential storms try and rise, and receive the very gift that was given for you…
John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
God Bless you in your day! Victory is yours! Candra
